Alexia and Michaels’ love filled day at Wallalong House

My love letter to Alexia and Michael

The brief unfolding

From the time I booked Alexia and Michael to the day their wedding finally arrived, I got to watch their life unfold. They moved to London. They travelled the world — chasing the people they love, turning up for their friends and family across hemispheres. And then they came home to Australia, back to Wallalong House, to get married surrounded by every single one of those people. I watched all of it from the sidelines and felt so honoured to have even a small window into their world. Their brief was their people and the love they all shared.

The Palette and Styling

This blog isn’t so much about the flowers or styling, but I will briefly touch on it. Alexia wanted colour— shades of plum, burgundy, pink, green and ivory. They said I do between a nest of flowers. We worked through everything together — the palette, the style, the linens, the candles. It was a collaboration, and every conversation was fun! White French linen lined the tables, and a Burgundy love letter was left for each guest, an Italian feast followed and from what I can tell a very epic dance floor.

The Details

What this blog post is really about is love. I say this a lot, but I mean it every time. For me, it is never just about the flowers or styling. I am a deeply sentimental person, and it is not lost on me how lucky I am to be included in a very special and intimate setting.

The love that filled the grounds of Wallalong House was palpable that day. You could feel how deeply loved and cherished Alexia and Michael are by each other, by their families, and by the friends who travelled to be there. That love doesn't just show up on a wedding day. It's built over a lifetime.

During cocktail hour, they played their travel videos on an old-school TV. A little love letter to the life they'd been living, playing on loop while their favourite people sipped champagne around them.

Alexia and Michael. You are the very best people I have had the pleasure of flowering for. Thank you for letting me be there.
