A vintage feast for Georgia and Matthew at Wallalong House

A Roman inspired feast, dripping in lace and vintage silverware

The brief unfolding

The finished product of Georgia and Matthews’ day wasn’t what was originally planned. Georgia and I worked together to pull key elements from her inspo photos and created something that elevated Wallalong house and spoke to Georgia and Matthew. Their love of friends and family, conversing and laughing over food and drinks, was what brought the Roman feast to life.

The Palette

Ivory, burgundy, warm browns and the most lush, deep greens. Rich and layered without being heavy, romantic without being overdone. A colour palette that feels like an old Roman summer feast.

The Details

We sourced beautiful ivory, natural-fibre linens, glassware and tableware through Simply Seated because the cutlery and plates matter just as much as the flowers.

Lace bows were tied around the cutlery. Grapes draped through silver candle holders. Artichokes woven through the arrangements. Crystal bowls catching the light. At one point, Matthew came to have a sticky beak, and I overheard him say, “God, you guys are good”

Before guests stepped inside the marquee, they were greeted with a seating chart sat on a table completely drowning in 100% ivory silk, cascading and pooling onto the ground. First impressions absolutely count, and this one delivered.

The Flowers

Soft pink, ivory and burgundy blooms tucked into lush nine-bark foliage, fluffy and romantic. We wanted everything to feel gathered, like someone had just wandered through a garden and couldn't stop picking things. Effortless. Intentional.
